It was a sunny day with brisk breeze, the smell of barbecue floated everywhere,
and you just felt as happy as everybody else in the Plymouth Park .
Today was the annual TCCA summer outing picnic, more than a hundred families
and friends in the tri-city area met at the beautiful Plymouth Park in Midland .
On the long table were delicious dishes brought by TCCA members and prepared by
the TCCA committee: barbecue pork, authentic Chinese food, dissert plates, fresh
fruit and salad.
By 12 o'lock , all the tables and seats were full in the pavilion and the
feast started: smiles and laughs mingled with the smell of delicious food. Kids
are chasing and playing on the green, bathed under the mild sunshine. There
cannot be a better moment in the peaceful small town of Midland , where we live
and raise our family and kids.
Pengfei and Shaow, introduced our new residents in Midland . There have been
a lot of new faces in the tri-city area, thanks to recent hiring of Dow Corning
and Dow Chemical. We are so proud of the growing Chinese community in tri-city,
and proud of serving this lovely community. Ying brought puzzles and other
games, and of course, prizes for winners. As usual, there was a lot of laughter,
which entertained everybody' mood to a new height.
The summit of today' event, of course, is the tug-war. The first match, girls
versus boys, was such fun that parents cannot help joining. As the match kept
getting more intense, it finally turned into a war between Dow Chemical and Dow
Corning, and the results, of course was as obvious as the difference in their
numbers. The tug-war competition, though as exciting as you can imagine, did not
seem to tire anybody at all. After the fabulous feast, people enjoyed the nice
weather of a sunny Saturday afternoon, chatting with friends, playing with kids,
Frisbees, basketball, etc. All fatigues after a long work week have been washed
off by the wonderful moment, how wonderful is that!
